A new Beginning With Jesus

So where do we start?

Probably the biggest question when it comes to choosing a relationship with Jesus is… WHY?

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE TO LIVE MY LIFE GOD’S WAY RATHER THAN THE WAY I WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE?

The answer to that question is bigger than we can offer on this page, but the short answer is, we are God’s creation and He loves us. And as the One who created us, He truly knows what’s best for our lives. He knows each of our likes and dislikes and talents and His plan is to use our unique gifts to help us live a full and fulfilling life.

IF I WOULD ADMIT THAT MY POOR BEHAVIOR (MY SIN) HAS SEPARATED ME FROM GOD AND I WERE TO PLACE MY TRUST IN CHRIST ALONE FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF MY SINS, WHAT’S NEXT? IS THAT IT?

The answer to that question is really exciting! The truth is asking Christ to come into your life is just the beginning… its a launch point into a brand new life where you have a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe. A life where you come to know and understand Him more and where you discover your purpose and live that purpose out. A Life truly Fulfilled!

Does this mean my life will be easier or that I won’t struggle?

The idea of a life without struggles and problems sounds so amazing. Unfortunately, that is not a promise that God makes when we enter into a relationship with Him. Living a life with Jesus is not to live a life free of struggles it IS a life with the promise that we will never be alone. And when things grow challenging we have a constant friend and helper to walk with us through it.

How do we know how to live God’s way?

The truth is so many people approach God as if He were “Santa Clause”. A god that will give us what we want, and who expects nothing from us. A god who doesn’t oppose us living our lives in a way that makes us the most happy.

But the truth is, Jesus came to show us a new way. To help us recognize that life apart from God can never be completely fulfilling. His desire is that we would turn away from our sins and trust in what Jesus did on the cross to provide forgiveness for our sins and make us right with God.

2 Corinthians 5:15 tells us: “He (Jesus) died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised.”

The reality is, you may live a good, productive, successful life but to truly live the life you were created to live, your decisions will need to be in line with the plan of your creator. This means learning to follow God’s leading. He has given us His Word (the Bible), other Christians and His Holy Spirit, to help coach and mentor us in how we can know God’s plan for our lives and how we can put that plan into action in our every day lives.

If you are ready to begin a relationship with Jesus, it starts by recognizing that you need the forgiveness only He can give. The Bible tells us that when we turn from our sin and place our trust in Jesus, we are forgiven and begin a brand new life with Him.

“Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally.
I know that I have been living life my own way and that my sin has separated me from You.
Thank You for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins.
I turn from my sins and open my life to receive You as my Savior and follow You as my Lord.
Amen.”
