Next Gen Student Ministries
Helping the Next Generation Know God and Follow Jesus
At La Porte Assembly, we believe the next generation matters deeply to God.
Next Gen Student Ministries exists to help students discover who God is, understand His Word, and build a faith that lasts beyond high school.
The middle school, high school, and young adult years are some of the most important seasons of life. Students are asking big questions about identity, purpose, and truth.
Next Gen is a place where students can:
Ask honest questions
Build authentic friendships
Encounter the presence of God
Grow in their understanding of the Bible
Whether someone has followed Jesus for years or is just exploring faith, they will find a welcoming community where they belong.Thursday Nights at Next Gen
Thursday Nights – Next Gen Midweek
📅 Every Thursday
⏰ 6:00–7:45 PM
🚪 Doors open at 5:45 PM
Next Gen Midweek is the heart of our student ministry.
Each week begins with powerful, Spirit-led worship in the sanctuary, where students from every age group gather together.
After worship, students break into age-based environments where they share dinner, build friendships, study the Bible, and grow in their faith.
365 Student Ministries – Grades 7–12
Our middle school and high school students are part of 365 Student Ministries.
The name 365 reflects our desire to help students walk with Jesus faithfully every day of the year.
Thursday nights include:
High-energy games
Engaging Bible teaching
Honest conversations about real-life issues
Small groups where students can grow together
Students experience an atmosphere that is fun, welcoming, and centered on helping them develop a real relationship with Jesus.
Loop 56 – Grades 5–6
Loop 56 is designed for students transitioning from kids ministry into youth ministry.
This group gives preteens a place where they can:
Build strong friendships
Learn how to study the Bible
Begin developing their own personal faith
Students begin the evening in worship with the rest of Next Gen, then move into their own group time for dinner, games, Bible teaching, and discussion about how God’s Word applies to everyday life.
Loop 56 helps students take their first steps toward owning their faith.
Post High School – Young Adults (18–25)
The journey of faith doesn’t stop at graduation.
Our Post High School group is for young adults ages 18–25 who want to continue growing spiritually while navigating college, work, and early adulthood.
This group focuses on:
Verse-by-verse Bible study
Honest conversation about faith and life
Community and friendship
Fun outings and activities
It’s a place where young adults can build strong relationships and continue growing in their faith.
Camps, Retreats & Student Events
One of the most powerful parts of student ministry happens outside the weekly schedule.
Every year our students participate in incredible experiences where they encounter God and build lifelong friendships.
Youth Camp – June
A week at Lake Placid Camp in Hartford City, Indiana filled with powerful worship, teaching, and unforgettable moments with God.
Winter Retreat – Late January / Early February
A weekend getaway designed to help students recharge spiritually and deepen friendships.
Indiana Assemblies of God Youth Convention – November
Thousands of students gathering in Bloomington, Indiana for worship, teaching, and a powerful time together.
Summer Hangouts
Throughout the summer we host fun events and outings to stay connected when school is out.
What to Expect as a New Student
We know visiting a new church can feel intimidating, especially for students.
Our team works hard to make sure every student feels welcome from the moment they arrive.
Students can expect:
A welcoming environment
Leaders who genuinely care
Safe, background-checked voluntee
A place where they can ask real questions
A community where they belong
No pressure. No perfect people.
Just students learning to follow Jesus together.
