Our Lead Pastor

Roger and Sharon Coleman

After graduating from Southeastern University in 1997, Roger and Sharon Coleman stepped into ministry together, beginning as Youth Pastors in Central Indiana. From the very start, their calling was rooted in a shared passion for seeing people grow in their faith and discover life in Jesus. Roger was ordained with the Assemblies of God in 2000, and not long after, the couple accepted their first Lead Pastor role at Journey Church in Granger, IN, where they served faithfully for several years.

Their journey next took them to Northwest Arkansas, where they pastored Newsong Church. In 2011, God led them back home to LaPorte—a move that marked a meaningful season of both ministry and personal growth. Serving as Executive Pastor at LaPorte Assembly of God, Roger and Sharon had the joy of helping strengthen and grow the church’s men’s, women’s, and Home Group ministries, while continuing to be shaped by all God was doing in their own lives.

Roger and Sharon remain committed to lifelong learning and growth. In 2023, Sharon was ordained by the Assemblies of God and later became an AACC-accredited Licensed Mental Health Coach in 2024. That same year, Roger completed his Master’s Degree in Biblical Theology from North Central University—further equipping him to teach and lead with depth and clarity.

Through every season—each step forward, unexpected turn, and even the occasional speed bump—the Colemans have trusted that God was faithfully guiding them. As of January 2026, they are honored and deeply excited to serve LaPorte Assembly of God as Lead Pastors, believing wholeheartedly in what God is doing in and through His church.

Roger and Sharon are the proud parents of two adult daughters, Madisson and Jocelynn, who teach at a private school in Orlando, Florida. Though they don’t share the same zip code, the Coleman family is tightly connected by their love for Notre Dame football, great movies, and long conversations by the fireplace—usually centered on Jesus.
